The Gentleman Losers are the brothers Samu and Ville Kuukka from Finland. They've been playing music together since their early teens. The Gentleman Losers is their long-term project. The album was recorded during a nine month period in 2004, in their studio in Turku. In fact, they recorded two albums: after finishing an album's worth of music, they decided it was not what they were looking for, threw away most of it and began anew from the smoldering remains.

Eventually the album was finished, and was released in Europe, America and Asia in 2006 as the first release on Büro, a newly formed sublabel of the Manchester/Berlin label City Centre Offices.

The album has garnered worldwide praise. Several people included it on their Best Of 2006 lists. The first pressing was recently sold out.
